The Kubuqi Desert organizes a public tree-planting activity on Earth Day every year. On the 48th Earth Day, nearly 20,000 people participated in the activity in the main venue in the Kubuqi Desert, and sub-venues in Xinjiang Taklimakan Desert and Gansu Tengger Desert. 400,000 saplings of spruce, euphrates poplar, pinus sylvestris, saliz matsudana and liquorice were planted.
