The brand-new China Poverty Reduction Online (p.china.org.cn)—under the guidance of the State Council Information Office is operated by two affiliate sites of the China Internet Information Center: china.org.cn and chinagate.cn.
The new website commits to offering broad access to China’s poverty reduction achievements, stories, opinions, and experience; to strengthening international communication and cooperation; to promoting China’s efforts in taking international responsibility; to mobilizing all social sectors to participate in poverty reduction; to sharing its own poverty reduction experience; and to helping other developing countries find their own suitable path to eliminating poverty.
The Chinese version (f.china.com.cn) of the website was launched on August 5, 2016; and the English version (p.china.org.cn) is launched in January 2017.
Updated poverty reduction information—including national and local policies, statistics, reports, and project information—will be published comprehensively, accurately, promptly, and authoritatively in various multimedia forms, such as text, photos, videos, commentaries, interviews, and infographics.
The vision behind the new webpages is to build the most authoritative, influential, and professional information-sharing platform, and to have this internationalized information database serve as a reference for both Chinese and foreign readers to learn about poverty alleviation in China.
