To develop a collective village economy and make silkworm selling easier, local service companies were set up in Napo County, which collect silkworms and make a spread of 0.3 yuan (U.S. $0.05) per catty. This has generated 100,000 yuan (U.S. $15,505) in revenues for the service company at Nale Village, taking the village’s economy from zero income to a surplus.
