Poverty alleviation in Baise—a pictorial report

With three children, the Liao Bianze household from Fuqin Village in Pingguo County suffered from education-based poverty. With educational policies, financial support and farming subsidy, Liao has been planting mulberries and raising silkworms since 2013. The industry has steadily scaled up. Last year, Liao’s family succeeded in emerging from poverty. In 2016, 166,000 poor people from 76 villages in Baise followed the Liao family’s example.
