In November 2008, the first China Resources Hope Town was set up in Yongle Village, Youjiang District in Baise, with funding provided by China Resources, the local government, and local people. It aimed to explore a new model of poverty alleviation, involving stated-owned enterprises and promoting new rural construction. The China Resources Hope Town was formerly a key impoverished area. In 2016 the per capita net income of the residents had reached 16,264 yuan (U.S. $2,522), 13,201 yuan (U.S. $2,047) more than that in 2008. The picture shows a villa in China Resources Hope Town.
