Yao Lingyan is the “First Secretary” of Liangjia Village, Jingle County. She has devoted herself to her villagers, visiting them door-to-door for two years to help them find ways to escape poverty. She recently reallocated about 32.96 acres of field for the village, built field roads, and bought agricultural machinery, tool, and supplies for impoverished households. She also encouraged young and middle-aged villagers to come out of their mountain village, seeking job opportunities elsewhere to increase their income.
