2021 South-South Human Rights Forum

The “2021 South-South Human Rights Forum”will be held on the 8th of December, 2021 in Beijing, China. The forum is co-hosted by China’s State Council Information Office (SCIO) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and organized by CGTN Think Tank. The South-South Human Rights Forum is a biennial event, and this year is the third of its kind.


The theme of the forum is “Putting People First and Global Human Rights Governance”. Guests and Participants will comprise high-level officials from around the world, experts and scholars in human rights, especially from the global South, diplomatic envoys to China, as well as representatives of international organizations and institutions. The forum will serve as a platform for the international community in general and global South countries in particular to discuss the current situation, challenges and advancements relating to human rights cooperation.
 
There will be four parallel sessions with four respective sub-themes at the forum:
 
1. Building a Global Community of Health for All and Protecting Human Rights;
2. Anti-Poverty Efforts and Realization of the Right to Development;
3. Multilateralism and Global Human Rights Governance;
4. The Role of Developing Countries in Global Human Rights Governance.
