Passionate about the development sector of Bangladesh, globally known for its contribution to social justice and poverty alleviation, Orpita Oysharja began her career in the field of development consultancy. Having graduated from the top business school in Bangladesh, Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, Oysharja wanted to utilize her knowledge of business efficiency and efficacy in social development through supporting NGOs and grassroots organizations. Eventually, she moved on to policy research, working for the think tank, Institute for Policy, Advocacy, and Governance (IPAG). To strengthen her footing in the area of policy research, she went on to pursue higher education in the field of public policy. After completing her Master’s in Public Policy from Peking University, Oysharja embarked on a versatile career track involving editing research papers, articles, and books along with teaching English and conducting training on Interpersonal and Business Communications. In recent years, she has carried out research on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) of China, particularly the BRI economic corridors in South Asia, i.e., China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor (BCIM-EC). She has also been involved in freelance research and editing projects on the BRI and China’s innovative firms. Currently, she is an editor and content developer at Perfect Lingo (完美万词王), a language learning app developed by Perfect World Co., Ltd. (完美世界).
