On April 20, 2013, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit Lushan county, Ya’an city, Sichuan province. Textile production, farming and processing of herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine, and other pillar industries have developed rapidly after seven years of growth and reconstruction. The Lushan government prioritizes green development, encourages the use of aquaponic systems and other circular farming methods, and actively promotes the integration of featured agricultural products and rural tourism in order to promote prosperity.
