A G7 train staffed by crew from the China Railway Beijing Group departs Beijing South Railway Station, July 1, 2018. This was the first time one of the new 16-carriage Fuxing high-speed trains ran on the Beijing-Shanghai line. It is also the longest Fuxing high-speed train to go into service. By 2018, China had 131,000 kilometers of railway in operation, five times more than it had in 1949. This included 29,000 kilometers of high-speed railway, accounting for over 60 percent of the world’s total. (China Media Group/Shen Shi)
