The installed units on the other side are much larger, each covering an area of more than 10 m2. The gaps between them are also much greater, and contain a sprinkler irrigation system. Locals will grow licorice in the spaces between the panels, which can improve the soil, act as a windbreak and fix the sand. Solar panels provide power for the irrigation systems. In 20 to 30 years, when the panels come to the end of their service life, the land will be turned fertile by the crops. Livestock can also be housed under the panels, making full use of the land.
