Sunshine brings new hope to this cloud-perched village nestled deep within central China’s Dabie Mountains. “State Grid Anhui Electric Power Company plans to invest another 2.7 million yuan (U.S. $391,770) this year to extend the trunk road for 2.4 kilometers and lift 144 households (440 people) out of poverty. In 2018, all people will be lifted out of poverty. You will see a whole new Jingangtai, full of hope, when azaleas cover Dabie Mountains next year,” said Wang De, the village First Secretary.
