1st demonstration village for agricultural poverty alleviation in Sao Tome and Principe

This photo taken on July 15, 2023 shows a view of Caldeiras Village of Sao Tome Island, Sao Tome and Principe. China and Sao Tome and Principe resumed diplomatic ties in December 2016. Shortly after, a team of four Chinese agricultural experts arrived at the launch of Chinese agricultural technical support project in the island nation, one of the least developed countries listed by the United Nations. In 2021, Caldeiras Village was designated the first demonstration village for agricultural poverty alleviation. Altogether 79 families in the village have received well-directed technical aids from China. (Xinhua/Han Xu)
