Hu Chun was born in Huagang town, Feixi county, Hefei city, Anhui province, in the 1980s and began driving taxis, buses, and trucks in other areas when he reached working age. In 2020, he returned to his hometown and became a bus driver in rural Feixi.

A county transit hub, Huagang plays an important role in Feixi’s efforts to integrate its urban and rural public transportation. More than 40 buses cover a total of 7,000 km as they traverse the six rural bus lines that radiate from the town every day of the week, making life more convenient for Hefei’s residents.

“Roads have been widened, the countryside has been beautified, and villagers are living happier lives,” Hu replied enthusiastically when asked about the changes that have been made in Feixi recently.
