In 2013, 51-year-old Hunzhai village, Zhujiachang town, Yuping Dong Autonomous County, Tongren city, Guizhou province, native Yang Dexian launched a fruit company in her hometown after running restaurants and engaging in other business outside the area for many years. Her fellow villagers began transferring their land usage rights to her in exchange for shares in the organization in order to make it possible to establish a fruit cultivation base and began growing flat peaches, yellow peach varieties, plums, and other fruit at the site, which enabled them to increase their incomes. The All-China Women’s Federation recognized the positive outcomes that the project has achieved, awarding it the “National Women’s Poverty Reduction Demonstration Base” designation in 2018.

“We plan to expand the scale of our operation and create additional jobs so that more people who live in the area increase their incomes and become more prosperous,” Yang explained confidently.
