In recent years, the government of Changsha town, Chishui city, Guizhou province, has been implementing a poverty reduction model involving “Party branches + cooperation with village-level enterprises + farmers” in order to consolidate and build upon the poverty alleviation achievements that have been made in the area. Villagers have been encouraged to cultivate turnips and fill the orders that a growing number of processing companies place, which has resulted in more than 1,000 members of 400 households increasing their incomes in the administrative area.
