The past year was memorable, not just with the country's fight against the pandemic but also for reaching a milestone in taking a bite against poverty. More than 10 million impoverished people were lifted out of poverty on average each year since the 18th National Congress of the CPC in 2012. On Thursday, Chinese President Xi Jinping marked the country's anti-poverty accomplishments in Beijing by handing out national honorary titles to recipients for their contributions to the cause.
