His Excellency Mr. Alain Wong is the Ambassador of the Republic of Mauritius in China since 2020. Previously, Mr. Wong was the Minister of Social Integration and Economic Empowerment, the Minister of Civil Service and Administrative Reforms and the Minister of Environment, Sustainable Development, and Disaster and Beach Management and Minister of Civil Service and Administration Reforms and he had a long career in Aviation as Flight Safety and Emergency Procedures Training for flying Crew Members. He was owner of a successful group of Restaurants.

Amongst his various academic’s studies, He Studied Human Resources management, Hospitality Management, Sports Medicine.

Ambassador Wong was a Mauritian national-level Tennis player and international Beach volley player. He won 21 times National Basketball Championship of Mauritius. He is the first and only person to complete the 200km round Mauritius open sea swimming marathon in 9 steps totalizing 54 hours 9 days in 1999. The Swimming was to raise funds for the construction of a shelter for the homeless. And he was awarded the Exclusive Honors from the President of the Republic of Mauritius. Ambassador Wong is life saver and swimming instructor and is well known for many acts of bravery for saving many lives of people. He received a Medal from Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II through the hands of Her Royal Highness the Princess Alexandra.

He was made Member of the Star and Key of the Republic of Mauritius for Social Services and Sports achievements.
