Harvest season underway at tea plantations in Danzhai county

Farmers have been busy picking leaves at the tea gardens in the area since Grain Rain – the sixth traditional Chinese solar term of the year – began on April 19. Danzhai has encouraged the public to lease some of the tea gardens in its borders online and employ impoverished local residents to manage them, pick the tea leaves, and make tea so that they can increase their incomes. More than 40 ha’s worth of land has been let so far this year, and nearly 700 new jobs have been provided. (Xinhua/Ou Dongqu)
