Shicha Village develops dendrobium industry to boost locals' incomes

Villager Wang Xiuwen works at a dendrobium plantation in Shicha Village in Haikou, south China's Hainan Province, April 21, 2020. Located at the foot of a volcano, the village has been developing the dendrobium industry based on its land condition, and promoting tourism industry by converting dendrobium conservation centers into scenic spots. The village's annual income per person grew from 3,600 yuan (about 508 U.S. dollars) in 2013 to 24,000 yuan (about 3, 386 U.S. dollars) in 2019. (Xinhua/Guo Cheng)
