Farmers who work at the poverty alleviation base in Futai village, Daxin township, Anhui province have recently been harvesting black fungus. Strict COVID-19 prevention and control measures were implemented in order to help contain the virus and promote safety.
The base was founded in April of 2018 and is based on a model that involves the “general Party branch + cooperatives + farmers.” Local agronomists transferred a total of 2.2 ha of land to the undertaking, and it received 3 million yuan (US$429,013) of investment.
Twelve of Futai’s families have escaped from poverty as a result of their members working at the site; their annual incomes have increased by an average of more than 20,000 yuan (US$2,860).
