Fumin village, Zhangjiasai township, Yiyang city, Hunan province was once a provincially recognized impoverished jurisdiction. The village’s pickled mustard greens industry has become an important income stream for many of its farmers and helped it escape from poverty in 2019.
Fumin’s mustard growers have recently had difficulties selling about 100 metric tons of pickled greens as a result of complications related to the COVID-19 outbreak. The local government became aware of the problem and helped find new sales channels. Deputy Mayor of Zhangjiasai Wang Ye contacted companies that might be interested in the village’s pickled mustard greens and has closed some deals. About 25 metric tons of the producthave been sold so far.
