A total of 363 households in Dariyabui township in Yutian county of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, known as the “last tribe in the desert”, have moved to new houses with stable electricity and clean tap water.
“I’m really happy to be able to live in such a new beautiful house,” villager Imin Matkurban said after moving into his new house.
“The house is spacious and bright,” he said.
Another villager, Zainaphan Osman, said her home has a construction floor space of more than 70 square meters and a front courtyard.
“The tap water is sweet and electricity supply is stable, while vegetables, fruit and meats are available any time,” Osman said.
Osman said her new house has also been equipped with many new household appliances.
According to Osman, the local government has also built new schools and hospitals in their new community.
