Poverty alleviation workshops provide job opportunities for people who need them

A laborer makes backpacks at a workshop in Pinggui district, Hezhou city, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region that is located near a poverty alleviation relocation area. The Pinggui government encourages companies that produce luggage and similar products to establish a presence at the site in order to help the people who live there increase their incomes. The factory also provides employment opportunities for the general population. At the end of 2019, 268 people were employed at the workshop, 89 of whom were impoverished. The items that are created are sold in Europe, the U.S. and other areas.
