Hechi enterprises donate $88.27m to help poverty alleviation

In 2019, a total of 719 enterprises in Hechi donated 608 million yuan ($88.27 million) to help the city's poverty alleviation efforts.
A total of 3,044 projects were carried out to help the 185,900 registered impoverished people in the city's 1,208 villages.
In addition, the city's Federation of Industry and Commerce took the initiative to cooperate with Chinese automaker Geely Holding Group, one of the world's top 500 companies, in poverty alleviation work that integrate education and employment.
One automobile course was opened at the city's vocational educational center for impoverished people in Hechi in 2019.
A consumption poverty alleviation fair was held in Bama Yao autonomous county in Hechi during the year, with enterprises from Guangdong province participating. Contracts, valued at a total of 200 million yuan, were signed at the fair.
To date, sales of poverty alleviation products reached 22.58 million yuan, of which 13.46 million yuan was from agricultural products sold by poverty-stricken villages in the city, benefiting 16,037 impoverished households.
