Professor Zhu Liyu, executive director of the Human Rights Research Center, Renmin University of China, gives interview to Chinahumanrights.org.
A seminar on the creation of China's human rights discourse in the new era was held on April 12 in Changsha, capital city of Hunan province.
China’s human rights cause has achieved success both in theory and practice, said professor Zhu Liyu, executive director of the Human Rights Research Center, Renmin University of China, in an interview with our website.
Zhu said China and western countries have taken on a different development path and their philosophies on human rights are different due to cultural differences. However, China has always been an advocate of cultural exchanges and mutual learning despite the difference in human rights discourse.
Zhu said no country can impose its idea or system on other countries and there is no best only better human rights guarantee.
Zhu said President Xi’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era will give a boost to China’s human rights cause.
