April 13,2018--The seminar “Building Chinese Human Rights Discourse System in a New Era”, co-sponsored by the China Society for Human Rights Studies (CSHRS) and the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China in Hunan Province, was held Thursday in Central South University in Changsha, capital of Hunan province.
Attendees said that president Xi Jinping’s thoughts on human rights are based on Marxism and Chinese real conditions in the new era.
Xi’s thoughts present solutions to both Chinese and global human rights development, contributing Chinese wisdom to the progress of human society.
“The country has made obvious progress in having more say on human rights issues in the international community. What we need to do now is to express our views more systematically, since China's opinions are more valued than ever,” Qiangba Puncog, head of the CSHRS said at the seminar.
Nearly 70 scholars and experts from universities, research institutes and government departments exchanged views on the building of the Chinese human rights discourse system and the global human rights governance in the new era.
