China hopes to promote south-south human rights cooperation with Suriname

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Thursday that China hopes to cooperate with developing countries, including Suriname, to promote south-south human rights development.
Wang made the remarks when meeting with Suriname Foreign Minister Yldiz Pollack-Beighle, who is in Beijing to attend the first South-South Human Rights Forum.
Wang said China appreciates Suriname's firm support on issues concerning China's core interests and major concerns, and hopes that Suriname will play a more active role in China-Latin America relations.
