IFAD President: SSC key to rural poverty alleviation

Gilbert F. Houngbo, President of the United Nations’ International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), pays a visit to China from August 26 to 30. During an exclusive interview with China.org.cn, Houngbo proposed that China and IFAD strengthen their partnership in areas like cofinancing activities, with a common objective of ending poverty through rural development. While IFAD contributes its expertise to wherever it could be useful, China increases its responsibility or its role in the cause of rural poverty reduction.
