Sanjiang alleviates poverty through mushroom planting

Yalin Village, Doujiang Town, Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County in south China’s Guangxi Province has looked to targeted poverty alleviation and the “Beautiful Guangxi, Ecological Countryside” campaign as a key opportunity. Through land circulation and a “company + base + farmer” model, the region has developed 40,000-m² fields to plant edible-mushroom sticks of oyster mushrooms and shiitakes, among other kinds, and to integrate an “edible mushrooms + fruits and vegetables + flowers and plants” planting ecosystem to increase the earnings of nearby villagers.
