In 2016, Ningqiang issued up to 31.11 million yuan (c. U.S. $4.51 million) in microcredit loans to 238 households to support farmers to develop businesses like breeding and planting. With the help of microcredit, many impoverished households lifted themselves out of poverty through breeding, planting, or other small businesses.
