In China, it is rather unprecedented for an ordinary village like Nantang to host a music festival. With performing bands both from the local area and from Beijing, the festival opened with an amazing catwalk show, whose opening act featured the cooperative’s artistic team—the same one that had performed the “Labor Chant” in the 2013 Spring Festival Gala.
