Following the summer peak load period, the State Grid Chongqing Shibei Electric Power Supply Branch launched the Cida Line upgrade project. The project involves constructing 29.6 kilometers of new line using insulated wires, which will support power supply reliability and reduce forest fire risks. To minimize impact on residents, a build-first, switch-later approach has been used.

The Cida Line upgrade has entered its final construction phase. Not far from Chen Jinhua's home, power line technicians are installing poles and stringing lines. In the sunlight, the electrical hardware and new lines glisten silvery, contrasting sharply with the old lines at a distance. The project is scheduled for completion in January 2026, which will enhance local power reliability and voltage qualification rates.

Since the start of this year, the State Grid Chongqing Shibei Electric Power Supply Branch has upgraded 126 kilometers of rural lines, added 5,200 KVA of capacity, and benefited over 32,000 households.
