From August 11 to 13, the event Youth Action on Green Agri-Heritage: Global Cultural Symbiosis was successfully held in Shanghai. The event was designed to connect China’s agricultural cultural heritage and global youth-driven innovation via field visits, international youth roundtable dialogues and co-creation camps.

As a key part of the program, international youth representatives conducted field research on the Jinshan Flat Peach Polyculture System in Shanghai. In 2023, the system was officially included in the seventh batch of China's Nationally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems, marking the first—and so far, the only entry from Shanghai into the national list.

Jinshan flat peaches are a signature fruit of Shanghai’s suburban areas, mainly planted in Lyuxiang town, Jinshan district. Over centuries, local farmers inherited the legacy of Shanghai Honey Peach while continuously innovating cultivation techniques. This led to an integrated industry with peach cultivation at its core, complemented by other economic crops. In recent years, Lyuxiang town has vigorously developed the peach industry, innovated cultivation methods, promoted brand building, and found out the advantages of the Queen Peach. By promoting integrated development across primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors, the peach industry has become a key pillar of local rural vitalization.
