Known as the “stone mountain kingdom,” Du'an Yao Autonomous County, Hechi city, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, was an isolated key national poverty alleviation and development county prior to emerging from extreme poverty on Nov. 20, 2020. Currently a key rural vitalization county, the administrative area has improved its transportation and been pursuing various other projects designed to boost prosperity in its borders in recent years.
In 2019, relevant government departments greenlighted the establishment of a zone devoted to the cattle and sheep industries in the county known as Du’an National Modern Agricultural Industrial Park. Three cattle farming bases with a capacity of 10,000 head each and five sheep bases where Australian Han breeds are farmed that also have a capacity of 10,000 head have been built at the park since it was approved as well as 22 cattle farms and 43 sheep farms in the autonomous county’s townships as of November 2021. A complete industry chain involving areas such as forage cultivation, cattle and sheep farming, slaughter, processing, warehousing, logistics, brand building, and cultural tourism has been taking shape, promoting rural vitalization and high-quality development in Du'an.
