Agricultural eco-park vitalizes Zhejiang's Huayuan village

A provincial-level pilot project designed to promote comprehensive rural reform and a national five-star leisure agriculture and rural tourism demonstration site located in Huayuan village, Nanma township, Dongyang city, Zhejiang province, Huayuan Modern Agricultural Eco-Park features a range of functions and offerings, such as health and relaxation products and experiences, flower gardens, cultural festivals, fruit and vegetable picking opportunities, research and science popularization. The site also features fully automated, multi-wide, steel-frame greenhouses equipped with intelligent management systems and other advanced technology that were constructed with the intention of demonstrating efficient, soilless fruit and vegetable cultivation. The first phase of the project has been completed; the park currently covers 87 ha out of a planned 200.


In 2020, Huayuan received 3.7 million visitors, generated 61 billion yuan (US$9.42 billion) of operating income, and realized 142,000 yuan (US$21,925) of annual income per capita.
