China Communications Construction Group donates 40,000 surgical masks to Malaysia

A subsidiary of the China Communications Construction Group known as the China Communications Construction Company (M) Sdn. Bhd. donated 40,000 surgical masks to the Malaysian Ministry of Transporton March 25 in order to assist the country with its COVID-19 prevention efforts.

Malaysian Minister of Transport Wee Ka Siong accepted the donation and distributed the masks to front-line Ministry of Transport staff and charity organizations.

China Communications Construction Company (M) Sdn. Bhd.General Manager Ni Qingjiu briefed Minister Wee Ka Siong on the company’s activities in Malaysia.

Ni noted that Malaysia has been very concerned with the COVID-19 pandemic and has implemented strict prevention and control measures and that his staff wanted to help with these endeavors.

He mentioned that duty and social responsibility are a strong part of the corporate culture at the China Communications Construction Company and that its staff, therefore, decided to donate protective masks to Malaysia. Ni also indicated that the enterprise’s employees are very grateful about the opportunities that they have had and want to express Chinese traditions with practical actions and give something back to society.

Minister Wee Ka Siong expressed his sincere appreciation for the assistance that the China Communications Construction Group has provided and spoke highly of the social responsibility that it has demonstrated amidst the difficulties that Malaysia has been facing as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.

He also affirmed that China and Malaysia are good friends, close neighbors,and partners who trust and respect each other and engage in win-win cooperation. He said that the pandemic puts a spotlight on the interconnected nature of humanity and its shared future and that no one can survive alone.

Wee Ka Siong pointed out that assistance provided by Chinese enterprises highlights China’s sense of global responsibility and reflects the great advantages of the socialist system of laws with Chinese characteristics.
