A total of 411,000 people in east China's Jiangxi Province bid farewell to poverty last year, and seven counties were no longer labeled as poor, the provincial government said Wednesday.

Statistics showed that 100 percent of rural dilapidated houses have been renovated, while the number of poor urban residents shrank by 237,000.

Over 540,000 urban jobs were created, and over 625,000 farmers found jobs outside rural areas.

In the meantime, 90 percent of the hospital expenses for poverty-stricken patients were covered by government funding.

Jiangxi has planned 200 billion yuan (29 billion U.S. dollars) in funding for anti-poverty efforts in 2020, eliminating extreme poverty across the province within the year.
