CRI,September 17, 2018 Adjust font size:

Ji Demin and his wife, Hang Rui, from Gonghudong Village in the Sonid Right Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, stand in front of their new home holding spring lambs, June 3, 2017. With support from the Chinese government, the couple worked their way above the poverty line through breeding livestock in 2016.

China’s cabinet, the State Council, released in 2016 a poverty alleviation plan for the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020). Local authorities have also issued and rectified their own poverty alleviation plans. The current relief program has benefited some 550 million people nation-wide in China. (Xinhua/Deng Hua)
