CIKD seminar trainees visit Anyang in Central China’s Henan Province

Hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by Center for International Knowledge on Development of China (CIKD), the 2018 Seminar on Chinese Development Experience and Cases travelled toAnyang City, central China’s Henan Province on July 11.This is the second leg of a three-city tour in China which has taken the trainees to Beijing. The tour gives the trainees an opportunity to learn about the local economic and industrial development in the cities of Beijing, Anyang and Xi’an.
Twenty seminar trainees from seven countries paid a visit tothe Red Flag Canal Economicand Technological Development Zone, visiting the leading industrial companies in the Zone and learn about the pillar industries in the city. They also visited the Red Flag Canal,which was carved out on the Taihang mountains in the 1960s, after villagers mobilized themselves for the project to ensure the water supply to drought-ridden Linzhou.

The Red Flag Canal Economic and Technological Development Zoneis located to the northeast of Linzhou City, Henan Province. Set up in 1992, it was approved as a provincial economic and technological development zone by the People’s Government of Henan Province in March 2006 and as a national economic and technological development zone by the State Council in October 2012.There are professional industrial parks in the zone such as auto parts industrial park, new electronic materials industrial park and biotechnology industrial park.

The Red Flag Canalis the identity of Linzhou City. In the 1960s, when it was still known as Linxian, the city spent ten years building the Red Flag Canal on the cliffs of Taihang Mountain, which is 1,500 kilometers in total length.
