The Communist Party of China (CPC) has been guiding and leading the country for a long time. A party, whose founding national congress was organized in a boat, now boasts the world's largest party with 88 million members. Recently, the party held an important plenary session, which is being dubbed a landmark meeting to build an "all round moderately prosperous society."
In fact, the sixth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee introduced disciplinary rules for the party workers. Experts say this would be crucial in fulfilling the dream of a corruption free, clean party in the coming years.
Under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, China has been trying its best to crack down on corrupt officials. We have witnessed Chinese leaders blatantly hitting out at corruption on many occasions. There is no doubt that transparency and discipline are indispensable factors to accomplish the sustainable development goals.
During the session, the CPC has urged all the party members to "closely unite around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core." This is the clear indication that the Party strongly stands with Mr. Xi to take the country forward. In this way the Party and the government are inching closer to completely rooting out poverty from Chinese society. That could lead to China becoming a developed country by 2050.
Every plenary session of the Party's central committee plays a pivotal role in shaping the Party and guiding the 1.3 billion people. However, the recent session has taken some outstanding and laudable steps, including the two documents, " Norms of Political Life Within the Party under the New Situation" and "Regulation on Supervision Within the Communist Party of China." These norms clearly emphasize the core values of Party unity, maintaining ideals and close ties with the common people.
The 95-year-old Communist Party has a clear vision, which is reflected when Party leaders take important and path-breaking decisions. As we know, it is the prime duty of any government to provide its people a safe and secure environment. The Chinese Communist Party is in the forefront of building a peaceful society. Good governance is essential for the CPC. It can be achieved through strict governance and a corruption free system.
China has been actively engaged in international affairs since President Xi came to power in 2012. He showed the path of reform and development, which is quite significant in terms of China's growing role in world affairs. In September, China got a privilege to host the G20 summit. Under his leadership, China has shown the world what it is capable of. Credit must be given to Mr. Xi and his team. In the coming years Xi Jinping will offer a lot in leadership of China and global governance.
Nonetheless, the Communist Party is well aware of completing the daunting task of poverty elimination and closing the gap between the rich and poor. Having seen the sincere efforts of China, we must say, that the Chinese Communist Party is well prepared for the year 2021 and 2049 when that nation celebrates the founding of the CPC and the new Republic of China one hundred years ago, respectively.
